The Heads of Advertising is my tribute to marketing mascots of the past. I’ve always loved character design. One of my earliest memories is going to the grocery store with my mom, grabbing a stack of small, brown paper bags from the peanut barrel, and sitting down on the floor in front of the cereal aisle. While my mom shopped, I would draw as many of the cereal characters as I could. I was invited down to Kansas City to exhibit some of my work in a small agency for their First Friday event. I decided to do a series of advertising characters in my illustrative style. Volume two coming soon…
